Elena is Associate Professor at Universitat de Barcelona (UB) since 2021. She is Materials Engineer from Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya and Universitat de Barcelona (2015) and graduated in Chemistry (2000) from Universitat de Barcelona.

In 2009 she obtained PhD in Materials Science from the UB. She was scientific manager of R&D at La Farga Lacambra for three years (2013). She has been working in the development of new materials for a variety of fields, such as additive manufacturing, materials for high-temperature superconductors, news alloys in metallurgy, recycling of metals, among others.

Currently, she dedicates part of her research activity to additive manufacturing of ceramics materials. She has long experience participating in international and national projects, and research projects for companies. Her research field is focused on additive manufacturing of ceramic materials, mainly on preceramics polymers by direct ink writing and technical ceramics for digital light processing.
