yCAM - Giorgia Franchin
Giorgia is graduated from the University of Padova (Italy) with a Bachelor’s Degree (2011) and a Master’s Degree (2013) in Materials Engineering.
In 2017 she obtained PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Padova. During her PhD studies she worked at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab (Cambridge, MA) with the Mediated Matter group.
Currently she is a Research Fellow at the University of Padova in the Advanced Ceramics and Glass group. Her main research interests are in the Additive Manufacturing (AM) of ceramic materials. She is working mainly on direct ink writing using preceramic polymers and geopolymers to produce highly porous lattices and bioceramic scaffolds, on ceramic matrix composites and on different AM processes for glass production.
